Welcome to our blog!
We had the pleasure of helping Alisia and Julian plan and execute their Mount Currie Heli Wedding. We captured beautiful photos and were touched by the story of their love.
ABOUT THE BRIDE & GROOM
Alisia and Julian were introduced through Alisia’s best friends when they were 19 and 20 years. Julian offered to take Alisia snowboarding, and she slipped her number into his phone. Almost 15 years later, Alisia still doesn’t know how to snowboard… But they have been inseparable ever since their first meeting. The proposal came when the couple was vacationing in Cuba over the Christmas holidays. On the balcony overlooking the stars and the resort, Julian decided there was no better moment and went down on one knee.
The couple loves to go on adventures, camp, and hike with their two children, Max and Maverick. When they want to keep things low-key, they love watching movies and snuggling. One of their most incredible adventures together is raising their kids, of course! But these two also have other stories together. After Alisia wrote her nursing license in Florida, they rented canoes and cruised a river full of alligators. Getting married in an adventure wedding was the perfect choice for these two!
HELI WEDDING IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
Alisia and Julian live in Ontario and don’t get the same magical mountain views as British Columbia. So, they chose to fly west to get married in the mountain landscape of this beautiful province.
HELICOPTER WEDDING ON MOUNT CURRIE
In British Columbia, there is a lot of locations for a stunning mountain heli wedding to choose from. Here at Karizma Photography, we offer several landing options for you to choose from to get the perfect ceremony and photos you’ll be thrilled to display. We offer helicopter wedding packages in the Tantalus Range in Squamish, Rainbow Glacier, Marriage and Beverly Lakes in Whistler, Mount Currie and Ipsoot Icefield on Pemberton.
Alisia and Julian chose to say their vows on Mount Currie. Mount Currie is a northern summit of the Garibaldi Ranges in southwestern British Columbia. With its dominance of the Pemberton Valley horizon, it has become a top-rated destination for helicopter elopements and weddings.
THE DAY OF MOUNT CURRIE HELI WEDDING
While Alisia and Julian had initially planned to elope on August 31, Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. We had to shift their Mount Currie heli wedding to a new date – September 2. We advise all our couples to expect surprises when it comes to weather. It is always recommended to have a plan B and check with vendors for their flexibility. On September 2, the new wedding date, the weather was perfect, and it made for a beautiful wedding day.
The couple got ready for the day with their two sons and made the drive to Whistler Heliport. Once the safety briefing was complete, the boys said goodbye to their parents and stayed behind with their grandmother so Alisia and Julian could elope in the mountains.
The short flight took only ten minutes, and the view was gorgeous as we landed on a beautiful location on the side of Mount Currie. We chose a spot that overlooks Pemberton Valley on one side and the peak of Mount Currie on the other to get the best view of both.
The couple had a short ceremony that was filled with touching vows and an exchange of rings. Once it was made official, we took advantage of the natural wonders and took a variety of photos of the newlyweds.
This elopement was not only gorgeous, but you could feel the true love that Alisia and Julian have for each other. We were so happy to be a part of their special day photograph the memories they will hold onto of this day!
